MovieMadness
Massive storm brings Lake Tahoe's water levels back above natural rim Heavy rain and snow fell in Northern California over the weekend — so much that Lake Tahoe's water levels are back above the natural rim. Water levels at the Tahoe City dam rose almost 6 inches in 24 hours, the U.S. Geological Survey said, and more than 24 inches of snow fell in the mountains around the Tahoe Basin. This was welcome news, as last week, Lake Tahoe's water levels dipped about an inch below the natural rim of the basin. When the levels plummet below the rim, the lake is no longer connected to the Truckee River, its only outlet. Drought, fueled by climate change, is causing the levels to drop more often and earlier than normal. While the rainfall was definitely needed, it's not enough to solve Lake Tahoe's water troubles, experts say. Because the lake was only an inch below the rim, the massive storm was able to raise the water levels quickly, but they are nowhere near where they should be, SFGate reports — Lake Tahoe is considered full when water levels are roughly 6 feet above the natural rim. **************************************************** If the lake level falls below the rim, they blame it on global warming. If it rises above the rim, they blame it on global warming. Someday people will see this scam for what it is.

Read what you post and try to understand it. This is from MM's post: "it's not enough to solve Lake Tahoe's water troubles, experts say. As your post states, it is still no where near where it should be or needs to be. It is considered full when it is "6 feet above the natural rim" and it is no where near that level. So your title is misleading, as you no doubt intended.
ElCid
Yahoo news citing SF Gate [emphasis added]: "Drought, fueled by climate change, is causing the levels to drop more often and earlier than normal. While this weekend's storm was significant, it isn't going to make much of a dent in the drought hitting the Western U.S. Nevada's Lake Mead is a major water source for California, and Bill Patzert, a retired climate scientist with NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, told the Los Angeles Times that he estimates it would take 17 years of above-normal rainfall and snowpack to bring the depleted lake back to where it should be. "There's no quick fix to the drought," Patzert said." https://news.yahoo.com/massive-storm-brings-lake-tahoes-004653494.html

Times has decided to reduce the use of the term drought based on feedback from non-retired climate scientists. A drought is a temporary weather condition. E.g. Rainfall is below "normal". But with climate change, there is a new-normal; I.e. reduced rainfall and snow are here to stay and therefore the old methods of dealing with droughts (E.g. storing water during above "normal" years for when there is a drought), are no longer viable. I.e. there is no quick fix to the drought, because there isn't a drought but instead a longer term reduction of rain and snow for the lower half of CA.

MovieMadness
The scam was called global warming for years until the general population figured out it wasn't making sense when they blamed record snowfall on global warming. So the scam was changed to "climate change" to cover all weather, and that's where it is today. This lake is a great example, no matter where the lake level is, they blame it on global warming. Someday people will see how this was all done for one thing, money. Money for " democrat scientists", money for democrat politicians, and money for the friends of democrats.

You must enjoy being wrong so often. As you even admit, Global Warming is no longer a valid term. Only used by elderly, less educated GOPers primarily Your last two sentences don't even make sense. How are scientists, politicians and friends of Democrats going to make money off climate change? Climate change has effected the lake level because it is not where it is supposed to be or needs to be. Even your first post admitted that. That is due to climate change. Not a scam.
