LsDoorMat
The 4K is fine. If you are like me and bought this for the Blu, Criterion will send a replacement but you must mail the original Blu disc - just the film - back to them to get a replacement. I'm still waiting for mine to get here from the B&N sale. It has shipped according to the website. I'm going to look at it before I send it just to see how bad it really is. EDIT: Watched Kane last night. If I hadn't been told there is something wrong with the contrast I would never have noticed. But I'll send it back and get a new movie disc anyways. BingFan
I’ve always been very impressed with Criterion’s customer service. They had a widespread problem with their Howard’s End disc and similarly offered a replacement. And I had a problem with my disc of Room With A View, and even though it wasn’t a widespread problem, they offered me either a replacement of that movie or a substitute of any movie from their library. Criterion does it right by standing behind their products. They have a loyal customer in me.
LawrenceA
Has anyone received their replacement disc yet? I have not, but with the holidays, other mail slowdowns, and the amount of replacements being processed, I'm sure it will take a bit of time. speedracer5
I ordered the 4K, but sent my replacement blu ray in this past week. We'll see how long it takes. I am not expecting a quick turnaround. I appreciate Criterion's prompt action to address this quality issue. They always have fabulous customer service, which definitely justifies their higher price point--though I usually only buy during the twice annual 50% Flash Sales and B&N 50% off sales. LawrenceA
I received my replacement disc today. It was in a small cardboard envelope. The disc itself was in a paper sleeve. Included was a postcard (mine was Green for Danger) with a label on it with the $10 giftcard code. It arrived standard mail, so I guess it's luck that it wasn't damaged in transit. speedracer5
I have a tracking number, but my disc hasn't shipped yet. I bought the 4K, so the Blu Ray is just an extra disc; but I would like to have the complete set nonetheless. Hopefully it arrives unscathed from the post office. Technicolor33
I’m glad I held off on buying this one. The price tag was crazy. One of the reasons why. I expect it’ll go out of print within a year like the third man.
