Maybe she'd just finished watching The Strange Love of Martha Ivers. 2

LornaHansonForbes
Fun fact: Not long after, Diana and the stepmother who she pushed down the stairs actually became friends- and they remained so until Diana’s death. I guess they had kind of a Madeline Ashton/Helen Sharp bond going.

King Rat
Many thanks to Cinema International for the photos. I would absolutely wear the two outfits for Stan in the costume sketches from Nightmare Alley. Really nice hats. Some great work for several of the films, though the colors for West Side Story seem off, perhaps intentionally.

That can be a strong motivation for pushing someone down the stairs. Apparently it happened- and I’m being serious here – because Diana was at a function ca. 1990 at the Spencer Estate with her birth mother and she felt as though her stepmother RAINN was not showing her birth mother FRANCES deference and proper respect in the house where she had once been MISTRESS So DI did what any of us would’ve done which is to push her stepmother down the stairs at a luncheon in the middle of the day.

Absolutely agree about the exceptional production design in "The Tragedy of Macbeth". A surreal world was created. I also love Denzel Washington's performance as Macbeth as well as Frances McDormand as Lady Macbeth. This was a new take on this brutal couple. 1

I personally have been fed up and haven't watched a show since 2003...HOWEVER, I ALWAYS WATCH AND READ THE POST MORTEM OF THE SHOWS OVER THE YEARS and there have been an escalating number of problematic events- from some tacky public sniping to TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE RUSHING THE STAGE and almost fighting over an award to THE LA LA LAND DEBACLE to LAST YEAR'S GALLING ***-UP WITH PLACING BEST ACTOR LAST, which was apparently the crap-coated cherry on a dismal show. and then you add in the fact that THEY'RE WRONG AT LEAST 90% OF THE TIME. A lot of us just got tired and disenchanted with the awards and the show itself over time, but I know I am still every bit as fascinated by the ongoing series of fiascoes that seem to be plaguing the show of late.
