Do I actually see the Three Stooges ranked ABOVE the Marx Bros here???!!! So, ya like the pure slapstick stuff, do ya Techni ol' boy??? Well, I guess all I can say about THIS is... ... 1

Sepiatone
Just never struck me as all that funny. And you did bring up the idea of ranking them, didn't you? And that's just what I did. Sepiatone

Sepiatone
I'm with DARG here Tech. Sure, I liked the Stooges as a kid(both The 3 and The Psychedelic--- ). But once I reached puberty their antics just seemed childish to me. But I never seemed to outgrow the Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy or silents by Keaton, Lloyd, or Chaplin. Vautrin
One vote for W.C. Fields. I've always found Field's curmudgeonally, henpecked tippler funny, especially when he rubs up against others not of this persuasion, which is mostly the rest of the world. I put him on a par with the Marx Bros., unless he makes a birdie.
