jaragon
I had never heard of "The Set" (1970) the first Australian film to deal with homosexuality. Paul Lawrence is a working-class man who dates Cara, sells shirts at a Sydney department store, and dreams of attending art school. Cara leaves for London and Paul becomes the protege of designer Marie Rosefield. Paul enters the 'set', the world of Sydney art society. Paul is helped by art student Tony Brown, who is dating Paul's cousin, Kim Sylvester. Paul and Tony begin a homosexual affair. This is very pre -Stonewall film and while there is plenty of gay desire there is very little actual gay action. Tony is played by Rod Mullinar who went on to have a long career in Australian television. He is very good looking man and his body is often on display. If you are curious you can see the film for free on Tubi tv. You gotta love the over the top trailer about "unnatural tangled passions" the movie never reaches that level of camp 1
DougieB
The trailer practically gave me a headache with all the hyperbole, but the movie seems worth checking out. Thanks for always keeping us posted about your new finds.
