Pelosi's visit to Taiwan was inane sabre rattling against Xi Jinping with no concrete benefit for anyone. If the US seeks to de-escalate tensions with China that means actually working alongside them and not provoking them. She completely destroyed good will that had been built up.

Will be interesting to see how all this plays out as Iraq has failed to form a viable government for several months now.

While they may not be evacuating the embassy and embassy staff, what about dependents and others?

Iraq is in Asia, but is usually referred to as being in the Middle East, so this may not be the best place for this disussion.

Some nations have put Iraq on a travel warning list and Kuwait in particular has urged its citizens to leave the country. The US envoy had this to say:
