Bill Clinton lost the nuclear codes for months

The codes needed to launch a US nuclear strike are supposed to be kept close to the president at all times.   

A department within the Defense Department is tasked with overseeing all aspects of the nuclear-launch process, including the codes.

 During Bill Clinton's presidency, officials from that department discovered the codes had gone missing.

Word of the missing codes never made it out, and Shelton's recounting of it in his 2010 book was, to his knowledge, the first time it had been shared publicly.

The big question is which did Bill Clinton lose first, his pants to Monica or the nuclear codes.

The big question is which did Bill Clinton lose first, his pants or the nuclear codes.

Yeah, the President doesn't keep these.  It's the responsibility of the DoD...
