HollywoodGolightly
I've heard a lot about this movie, ever since I started learning more about director Phil Karlson, and came across it on hulu.com the other day: http://www.hulu.com/99-river-street By the way, the synopsis is completely wrong, but don't let that keep you from watching. Ascotrudgeracer
I HAVE to see this.
HollywoodGolightly
And remember that movies on hulu.com won't necessarily be there forever. Not too long ago, they had another Fox movie, Rains of Ranchipur, and now it's gone from hulu. (Although still available on amazon for download, it's not free on that site). Terrence1
I had forgotten all about "99 River Street." I first saw this as a teenager and would love for TCM to show this sometime. It's quite good, with an excellent cast. I've always liked Peggie Castle, and it was good to see her in a contemporary role. She often was in westerns. And John Payne and Evelyn Keyes make a great couple. Terrence.
HollywoodGolightly
I would also love if TCM could show it, but in the meantime, I'm glad at least it's on hulu. Did you get a chance to watch the hulu version?
Terrence1
I'm not familiar with the hulu version. Perhaps you can give me a brief explanation of this. Sometimes I feel so out of touch with modern technology. Terrence.
HollywoodGolightly
terrence, hulu.com is just a website. They let you watch online videos for free - they just have a little commercial or two here on there (though from what I remember, way less commercials you'd see on most TV channels). If you're already familiar with YouTube or any other site with streaming video, you probably know the rest. While I don't generally advocate watching classic movies (or even contemporary ones) in a computer monitor, there are times when there is no other real choice, so under the circumstances it seems appropriate, imho.
