castillo
About having a Burt Lancaster marathon, I am a new member so I don't know if there was one. In 1950s Lancaster abandoned his "all-American" image and gradually came to be regarded as one of the best actors of his generation.
lzcutter
He was Star of the Month ten years ago, in December 1999. He had a Summer Under the Stars day in August, 2004 I'd say he is due again for some more TCM love.
vallo
While I do agree about a "Burt" Marathron. He ' is on Friday 11/13 @ 10pm (est) in *Vera cruz* with Gary Cooper. One of my favorite "Burt" westerns. He eats the scenery in this one. vallo
mrroberts
No shortage of films to pick from for Burt. My personal favorites, "Gunfight at the O K Corral" and "The Train".

fredbaetz
Great Idea.....Love "Seven Days in May" and :The Train", but would love to see some of his early 1950's swash buckling films like "The Flame and the Arrow", "10 Tall Men", "The Crimson Pirate" and "His Majesty O'Keefe". These were great matinee films I remember as a kid. They were loads of fun and showed off Burt in the charming rogue he was back then and which he kept some into his later films. You got my vote......
redriver
I like when Burt plays characters who AREN"T brash and aggressive. Doc in "Little Sheba," the accused gentleman in "Nuremberg." Birdman? This is debatable. But at least, he doesn't make speeches or swing from a trapeze! Even nasty J. J. Hunsaker is not as strong as he pretends to be. His sick little needs are greater than those of any other character in the story.
castillo
Trapeze and The Train, the best way to watch this is with good healthy junk food, on a cold day rainy day, Tony Curtis, Gina Lolobrigida and Burt, what a line up
DownGoesFrazier
The 1948 noir, I WALK ALONE, deserves more exposure than it gets, both for quality and historical (Lancaster and Douglas' first appearance together) reasons.
sweetsmellofsuccess
A few of Burt's films I wouldn't mind seeing on TCM: The Professionals The Swimmer Ulzana's Raid Atlantic City Lancaster is one of my favorites!
DownGoesFrazier
You didn't mention SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS despite the fact that that is your name. Is that because TCM already airs it frequently?
castillo
That happens with me and the God Father, they show it so much, that is not my favorite anymore, but then again I can choose not to watch it.
