I got to see this sequence -- and the film -- again a couple of nights ago, as part of the "31 Days" process. There is an older such scene from the Silent era, in which Buster Keaton did a similar routine. More recently, in that period when "music videos" were all over the airwaves, I believe it was John Lennon who did the same again in a sort of tribute video. It was my 1st record album I ever owned...a 78 sound track and picture album complete with photos of Dan Patch, the racehorse. Thanks Miles! This next film (also with an Oscar winning song) has never been released for purchase because of controversy that has surround it for almost 70 yrs. The scene is a little boy walking down a road in the dark of night carrying a bindle when he encounters characters around a bonfire. Name of the film and the issues involved. ??
