starliteyes
Just watched this a couple of days ago and not on TCM, but from my own collection. It has to be Step Lively. Some interestingly staged numbers in that movie!
lavenderblue19
Step Lively is the film. Gloria deHaven as the nightclub singer in the bubble bath. It's interesting someone in another thread (not in games) mentioned that they watched it today and hated the film. I've always loved this film. The songs are beautiful and Frank and Gloria were charming. Your thread Star

MilesArcher
A man, living in an old soldier's home, is sitting on a bench with his leg under him when his old friend, whom he hasn't seen in years, comes to visit. Terrence1
I know exactly which movie this is, but, for the life of me, cannot recall the title. But it's a good question, Miles.
MilesArcher
Well, Terrence, if you remembered the stars, you could find the answer. It's a 1930's comedy with two well known male comic actors. The actress who played the friend's wife, had previously appeared in a "Thin Man" movie.

MilesArcher
Ok, here's a hint: The boy who played Butch in the "Our Gang" comedies, has a small role. The movie was made at his home studio.
Terrence1
This is "Blockheads" with Laurel and Hardy.
MilesArcher
Very good, Terrence. My next clue was going to be "What does Lucy refer to Charlie Brown as?". For those of you who haven't seen the movie, it's quite funny. Minna Gombell plays Ollie's wife. She played Maureen O'Sullivan's mother in "The Thin Man". Tommy "Butch" Bond has a role as a bratty kid. Terrence, it's your turn now.
