Starlit, this sounds like a fun movie.  Can you give us another clue?

Thanks for reminding me, Terrence.

While his wife is dancing with her lover, the woman's ex-husband spots her and is very happy to see her.  They go out on the terrace to talk and he tries to kiss her, but she makes it clear that, while she has no hard feelings, she is over him.

The woman has never met her ex-husband's current wife and, when he points her out to her in the casino, she discovers that it's the same woman that she overheard earlier in the day making plans for a weekend rendezvous with the same man that she accidentally spilled a drink on earlier in the evening.

Upon making this discovery, the woman takes her ex-husband back out on the terrace and invites him to come to lunch the next day at a house where she's staying back in the mountains.  He happily accepts her invitation and tells her that he was taking a train into town that night, but now he will get off at a certain point and catch another train back, letting his wife think that he's still in town.

The bookie changes his mind about selling when he meets a very pretty woman who works at the shop..and says he will forget the debt owed him..that they will run the business, but first, he asks the woman to teach him all about the unique items they sell.

The business is an art gallery, and the bookie pretends to be interested in the subject just to get alone time with the attractive employee.  He learns a little, but falls for a scam--a very good fake, which he buys for the gallery. Furious that he, a scammer, has been scammed, he visits the chic woman who sold it to him..and meets her friend, the painter, who brags that his reproductions are so good that some hang in museums.
