Terrence1
Yes, "Night of the Hunter" is the one. It's also one of my very favorite movies. The scene is a very brief one, taking place shortly after the two children depart the boat. It's yours.
lavenderblue19
Thanks. Love the film. Apples were important when the boy gives Lillian Gish one wrapped in a napkin for a XMAS present, that I remember very well, and the silly girl getting an ice cream cone. next A man while looking into the bedroom window of a man who is living at his house, falls off a ladder into the snow

lavenderblue19
Yes *Sitting Pretty* - Robert Young climbs up on a ladder to peek into the window of the room Clifton Webb has in Robert Young and Maureen O'Hara's house. He loses his balance when Webb calls his name and falls into the snow. For some reason, ( I think it's the yell that Robert Young comes out with) I crack up, in fact I'm laughing right now thinking of that scene. I LOVE,LOVE, LOVE this movie. MilesArcher
This might help. The movie takes place in the 1860's. There was a remake of the original nearly thirty years later.
