FrankGrimes
I never have the wrong information! why are you always right, but i'm always wrong? maybe it's just me. will someone kindly help me out pretty please? THERES ( ) no helping you! but you see, the motorcycle doesn't sing, she does! so what are you watching when the motorcycle isn't on screen in the video? The motorcycle never leaves my mind! I've never had a cat! and who are you referring to as horrible girls? Like I need to point them out! They are clearly evident... and abundant. who is heartless? Who stole who's strawberry shortcake? who picks on Greer and Mikhail Baryshnikov? who calls who mean names? That sounds like Molo. He's the one who couldn't tell the difference between Lassie and Greer. I don't believe I saw April dahlink write that anywhere. Who? Agatha wrote it! That's not fair! you took two screen caps from two completely different movies! You're not getting the stories right, frankie! I did not! Those are from Random Harvest. That's the film where Greer randomly shoots innocent gentlemen, thusly harvesting them. It's a scary film. And I thought you were the Greer authority around here! You're slipping! First of all, Smithy fainted, b/c he need Paula to take care of him. Huh? He didn't faint! Greer filled him full of lead! It's a good thing that nice young girl nursed him back to health. I'm glad they got married. second of all She is holding the gun to protect herself from the German pilot in her kitchen!!! remember?! he's the bad guy who threatened her! No! That's the crazy story Greer tells the cops. and thirdly, you don't even have a screen cap from Valley of Decision, which is the movie you eloquently keep referring to when you INSIST on her drowning a man's heart in the ocean....which she NEVER does! golly gee, I don't have it on DVD, or I would show how horrible Greer treats innocent men. And look at how she has influenced you. To think, you once were sweet. Now you're like Miss G. Just look at her expression when she finds out Smithy is alive: And don't think I didn't notice that she's wearing gloves to conceal her guilty hands. Horrible influence! molo14
*That sounds like Molo. He's the one who couldn't tell the difference between Lassie and Greer. * Um. Uhhh.... I can't seem to recall that! Don't listen to him. He's just trying to divert your attention Miss T. !
MissGoddess
Please do not refer to me as that "Agatha", it's very offensive, GEORGE.
JackFavell
_*Mysterious Molo* -_ >*I'm really into insect behavior or reptiles.* Then you should feel right at home with Frank Grimes around. >*I have become more like you. Most new TV doesn't interest me. The comedies aren't funny. Some of the dramas are pretty smart but more and more I watch old TV on DVDs.* It's getting to be torture to watch regular shows. On Monday, my husband has the TV. We watch How I Met Your Mother, which is actually funny, and then Big Bang Theory. Sometimes I read while the shows are on....Those are literally the only shows I watch, and if I had my way, I'd still watch TCM instead... no matter how much I like the shows. I don't LOVE them like I do TCM. I'm going to investigate the TV classics on dvd. I never ever think of renting them, but there are shows I should go back to. My favorites are kind of oddball stuff - I would kill to see some episodes of *The Millionaire*, which was a weekly version of *If I had a Million* . Serious, comic, it had all different stories. I like *Dobie Gillis*, and *Maverick*, *Dick Van Dyke*, and I really liked *Frank's Place* (canceled too soon). *The Avengers* was huge for me - with Emma Peel.... and *Wild Wild West.* I can recommend some of the earlier *Fugitive* episodes, though after watching too many in a row, David Jannsen's stoic personality is a little grating. I loved *Quantum Leap* when it was on. I haven't seen *My Three Sons* for years! I didn't like the later ones when Beverly Garland was on.. There was a *Mr Lucky* TV show, which I actually saw before the movie - it was really cool! I've been looking for some of the Ben Johnson episodes from Bonanza and other westerns, and he even had a show called *The Monroes* that I can't find anywhere, although one ebay seller had some actual reels of it... If I could have figured out a way to play and transfer them I surely would have bought them. _*Frank*_ (or should I call you Anton?) - >*I can watch Mr. Lucky, but you'll probably turn your back on me like you did with Summer Storm! I was just about ready to give you a good going over! And you know I'd never leave someone standing at the discussion altar.* I was with Fedor and I lost my way..... refresh my memory ... where was that discussion, again? CineMaven
By the way I feel rotten about missing your birthday! I hope you had a good one! Here's a little something..." - < molo14 > Don't be Molo. It's okay. I had a great birthday weekend, drinking, dancing and movies. Thanx for the picture of La Grahame. Hey, are there thirteen other Moloes like you?? Now I must go back a few pages to catch up on the Bickering Bickersons. AAAAAaaaaah, it --feels-- reads like good old times! By the way Grimesy, you'll never win the heart of a good woman if you keep on mixing up your movie plots. Oh wait. Silly me, with wimmin...when she's bad, she's better. I gotcha buddy! ;-)
movieman1957
Hi: One thing I have found though is that you might consider spreading discs of a particular show out over time. Early on I watched several discs of something together and soon tired of it. That is just me though. I have seen things from old Jack Benny and Burns & Allen to "Combat" and "Wanted: Dead or Alive." Silly as it may seem as popular as "CSI" is I have gone back to see what "Quincy" knew and how he managed to get by back in the day. There are plenty of good BBC shows to see too. MissGoddess
The last "contemporary" series I was ever into watching regularly was "Inspector Morse" on public television. Oh, my! I think I was the only person in her twenties watching that show!
movieman1957
"Morse" is good stuff. I have also been watching "Inspector Lewis." One I have come across and like is "Foyle's War." Murder mysteries with the twist of taking place in WWII England. Listening to Michael Kitchen is also a pleasant experience.
JackFavell
Thanks Goddess and movieman! I owe you both a BIG thank you! First, Goddess for telling me where that discussion was. I don't know who Agatha is, but if you don't like her, that's good enough for me. I don't think Frank deserves to have his every whim catered to...... I think I'll let him sway in the breeze for awhile.....Summer Storm wise. Now for the important news, and the reason for my BIG thank you......I just went to Netflix and found a Ben Johnson *Gunsmoke* episode that wasn't there before! It was called *Quint-cident* (Burt Reynolds' half-breed character was named Quint - my mom had a crush on him back in the day and I can see why - he was BUILT). Ben played a fugitive from justice named Ben Crown - oh my oh my! What a piece of work he was! I really didn't expect it to turn out that way. I thought Ben would be softened and smoothed into a better man at the end - I know he had two other guest appearances as this character on the show after this one. Well, they certainly fooled me. I am now as happy as a lark.... MM - I LOVE Jack Benny and Burns and Allen...... Amazingly, Morse has escaped me... I usually love all the British shows. JackFavell
I saw War Drums.... twice, three times... maybe more.... when I need a little Ben fix, I watch it streamed to my computer.... ahhhhh. Sweet relief. (I only wish it was Ben riding around half naked, instead of Lex Barker... ) ooh. I can't believe I said that...

Bronxgirl48
Happy weekend, guys. I've got some catching up to do around here. After watching one of my favorite Langs (MAN HUNT) I saw AMERICAN GUERILLA IN THE PHILLIPINES for the first time on Fox Movie Channel. Maybe I'm dense, but I couldn't find anything of Fritz in this. My hopes were raised when Ty Power's narration describes the war-ravaged jungle as a nightmare world, but then he keeps running into lovely and charming Micheline Presle. If that's a nightmare, I'm Bugs Bunny. (or Lloyd Nolan)
FrankGrimes
Not so fast, Anton. If that's the way you feel about it... I'll have to think of some other punishment for you. How about Siberia? Just because my boots don't have diamonds! Greedy women! No need, I was in purgatory again, last night.
JackFavell
I felt that way about Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. There is a not a shred of Lang in that movie.
FrankGrimes
After watching one of my favorite Langs (MAN HUNT) What?! I saw AMERICAN GUERILLA IN THE PHILLIPINES for the first time on Fox Movie Channel. What, what?! (or Lloyd Nolan) So if you're Bugs, that definitely makes Jackie, Daffy. You've now seen a Lang film I have not, nor do I possess it. It's one of the three of Lang's that I don't have, with the others being You and Me and... Secret Beyond the Door. But I like Man Hunt.

FrankGrimes
I felt that way about Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. There is a not a shred of Lang in that movie. Ahhhh, my least favorite Lang. I feel it's horribly overrated.
JackFavell
I was trying to not be brutal about it. It's pretty much a horrible waste of time even with the cast and director.

There is a not a shred of Lang in that movie. I saw BARD but don't even remember it all that well; that's how much of an impression it made on me. I came home for the (mercifully) last half hour of MY SON BRUNO, er, I mean JOHN. I don't know who or what I was embarrassed and depressed with more -- the script, Van Heflin as an FBI agent, Helen Hayes (The First Lady of the Snooze) or doomed Robert Walker. To top this, RO's outro about how they filmed Walker's final scenes really creeped me out. More weirdness -- today I have a strange sort of sleeping sickness -- I can barely rouse myself to get in front of the computer, eat, walk around, or do just about anything but drowse on my bed or the couch. I'm afraid I'm going to wake up nine months pregnant with a VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED baby. Edited by: Bronxgirl48 on Jan 30, 2010 1:46 AM
