I finally got a chance to watch it and I couldn't stop laughing the whole way through it! Thank you for the link! That was a real treat! I can see what you mean...and you aren't old! Us girls here are ageless! All of us! Now let's keep giggling, shall we? I unfortunately didn't get to grow up watching Bewitched, even though there were reruns on TV. My mom had this thing about witches at the time and didn't think it was appropriate. Honestly! Heehee! It wasn't until a lot later that I actually started watching it, but I still haven't seen so many of the episodes. CaveGirl
Lavender always was Kim's favorite color, or so she said in old interviews. I believe I once read and saw an article in which rooms in her abode were all in lavender, with her gracing the mansion in beautiful color photos accompanying. Of course...Kim would look good in any color.

Hard to believe loveable Aunt Clara played Robert Walker's train-wreck of a mother in SOAT. Yes, we are timeless wenches!! >I unfortunately didn't get to grow up watching Bewitched, even though there were reruns on TV. I'm (with the exception of Elizabeth Montgomery) basically terrified of witches. It all started with raisin-eyed Beulah from KUKLA, FRAN, AND OLLIE. JackFavell
I watched Ginger Rogers films today, well, bits and pieces of them. There were 3 or 4 that stood out for me. The first was *Tight Spot*, which had an excellent performance by Brian Keith as the police officer protecting Ginger, who is the only person who can put the finger on a mob boss and his operations. Where Ginger was OK, but not quite believable because of a put on low class accent, Keith just blew me away in this film, and actually played more authentically to my mind than Edward G. Robinson, who had little to do. Keith's character was fascinating, intense and ultimately pitiable. He completely stole the show. I felt for him more than anyone else in the movie. The second film that caught my eye was *Storm Warning*. I didn't see the whole thing, but the last 40 minutes were riveting, despite the very end being a tad unbelievable. Doris Day was excellent, she kind of took my eye off of Ginger though they were believable as sisters. Steve Cochran was brilliant - he was feral and dumb - a less street smart Stanley Kowalski. I liked Ginger here, because she wasn't putting anything on, and the scenes between her and Steve Cochran were brutal and scary. I liked seeing her yell at him, really yell. Not the ladylike Ginger or the put on Ginger, but a woman really getting in someone's face that she doesn't like. I don't know, I found myself wondering if she really hated Steve Cochran in real life, their scenes bristled. The third movie I enjoyed was called *It Had to Be You*, and was ridiculous. I shouldn't have liked it but I did. Ginger was a rich, unfocused girl along the lines of Ellie Andrews in *It Happened One Night,* constantly getting engaged and then running out on the groom at the altar every time. After about 4 walks down the aisle without ever getting hitched, she conjures up a dream man in her mind, in the form of Cornel Wilde, who comes to life with absolutely no scruples, and wreaks havoc on Ginger's family and current fiance. Enter a guy who looks just like her dreamboat (also played by Wilde) and you have the plot. Ginger played it dumb and breathless, and it worked! I liked Cornel Wilde as the loose, happily immoral dream guy, he's pretty funny, winking and sexy, pretty far from any of the other characters I've seen him play. It was fun and Ginger got some gorgeous gowns in this one. She looked good and was funny without trying too hard. My favorite of the day though was *I'll Be Seeing You.* Joseph Cotten is SOOOOO good in this movie! He and Ginger have a lot of chemistry, as he does with Shirley Temple, who he also worked with in *Since You Went Away,* in much the same type of role. There's a gentle 1940's family, portrayed quietly by Spring Byington and Tom Tully and Temple. Ginger is quietly moving, very grounded and sympathetic. It's a very pretty film, showing small town life well. There is an amazing scene in which Cotten has an attack, a mental attack, since he's suffering from shell shock. It's wrenching and like nothing I've seen in a movie from that time before. He finds himself falling, unable to get up, makes it to the bed and hears his own heartbeat pounding. He's overcome with the fear of this attack, his whole being throughout the movie is fighting these sudden weaknesses, and the fear makes the attacks worse. Only Ginger makes him feel at ease, but she's got a secret that might just keep them apart. It was a lovely movie, I haven't really described it well here. It's a romance about two broken people coming together, how opening up to one another helps to start healing. I've never been much of a fan of Ginger after a certain point, and some of the movies shown today highlight her faults. But I really liked the films I've listed and her performances in the last three were very good.
