Marge and Gower Champion

Hi Kiddo! Unfortunately, Marge and Gower didn't make a whole lot of movies together. My favorite is "Showboat" (1951), and I can't seem to get enough of watching them in the "Live Upon the Wicked Stage" number. They joined up as a team in 1945, and later married. They were divorced in 1978, and Gower sadly died in 1980 of a rare blood cancer. Marge is still living.

You can see a listing of their movies at IMDb.com, but they don't give much in the way of Biographies for either of them there. Perhaps you can find good Biographies for them at websites on the Internet by doing an Internet Search. :)ML

Weren't both of them also in 1952's "Lovely To Look At"?...they danced to Jerome Kern's "I Won't Dance"...if I remember it well...it also featured Kathryn Grayson, Howard Keel, Red Skelton and Ann Miller...Ann Miller had a fantastic number..."I'll be hard to handle"

BTW "Lovely To Look At" is a remake of "Roberta", starring Irene Dunne, Randolph Scott, Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers.

Marge and Gower Champion finished their movie career with JUPITER'S DARLING which was Esther Williams last starring vehicle for MGM. A very offbeat film but a total flop. The duo then co-starred with Betty Grable in her last vehicle at Columbia called THREE FOR THE SHOW. A very silly movie with some great dance production numbers by Jack Cole. Later Marge played a small part in the Burt Lancaster vehicle THE SWIMMER. These days Marge Champion is out and about. I think she lives in NYC and is very good at signing autographs through the mail as well as in person when she comes to Los Angeles. She even sent me a recent photo!
