gwtwbooklover
please bear with me when I read 2 posters discussing Shirley MacClaine's doings or possible doings with co-stars it made me think of Shelly. One poster talked of Shirley mentioning a close relationship with her co-stars in the Private Screenings shown on Shirley's day. I have read the sequel to her best selling book which Shelly laments she was to willing to tell her personal bussiness and this is what Johnny Carson and anyone else who interviewed her wanted to talk about. So she tried to be more careful in the next book. My question is does anyone know how Shelly Winters is doing? I hope well. How old is she and how is her daughter doing? bansi4
There is no doubt that Shelley Winters was hot to trot in her prime and she enjoyed every minute of it especially with William Holden. From what I understand she is in fragile health (in her 80s) and her daughter Vittoria (dad Vittorio Gassman) wants to take control of her mothers affairs which is not sitting well with Shelley. gwtwbooklover
Thanks for the info Mongo I was so hoping not to hear that she had passed away after I posted. There is no other Sheey Winters that is for sure I've always liked her. Thanks again.

classicsfan1119
Just so you'll know...the correct spelling is "Shelley". And, it's Shirley MacLaine, and Barbara Stanwyck. These are a few that I always misspelled, too, and now I go to IMDb.com to make sure of the correct spelling. :)ML
gwtwbooklover
I stand corrected- sorry for all the msp will ask my son if I can check spellings and still recall the page I am on. Should probably make a copy of spellings and at it to the stack of papers I am saving. Guys you should see our computer area had pledged to clean the house this Labor Day weekend and got pulled to the TCM website. The computer area is slowly slipping into the work station that Dennis Nedley had in Jurrassic Park.
classicsfan1119
I hear you about how quickly our "work stations" can get out of hand. Mine has never become that horrible, but depending on what I'm researching, the piles of stuff can grow to towering heights! Here's another "tip" for you. Go to the IMDb.com site, and when you have their page, right click with your mouse. A menu will appear, and you can select (click on) "Create Shortcut", which will put an icon for this site on your desktop. Then when you want to make a quick visit there from this site all you have to do is double-click on the IMDb icon, find what you're looking for, and then quickly come back here. :)ML
therealfuster
Shelley Winters was quite the dish in her heyday as a glamour girl, albeit a down to earth one, even with the likes of Ronald Colman...and was a fine actress too. Being that she did talk a lot publically about her once a year romance with Burt Lancaster, and other men she romanced like Tony Franciosa, et cetera...I always think about her saying she had a list of men she wanted to date like Errol Flynn, and her roommate Monroe had on her list, men like Albert Einstein. Marilyn was a bit of an opportunist and poseur though, so this is not surprising. Shelley still looked great in "Alfie" and was believable as the usee, who ends up becoming a user, and dumping Caine, like a stray mutt. I love Shelley's acting most particularly as Mrs. Haze in Kubrick's "Lolita", and I'd love to see her in something again on-screen.
