Language Used in and around the Fest

Recommended Posts

i hope to hear as many 30s and 40s cinema anachronisms in general conversation as possible:

"Say... what is this!"

"Ahhhh, you're all wet!"

"Okay, don't get sore about it!"

"Say, maybe it would at that."

"Are you on the level?"

How about "How do you do?", which means anything from "how are you" to "f--- off" (it does seem a much more gentile time doesn't it?)

And let's not forget ....

"She really sends me"

"You big pallooka !"

"A little razzamataaz"

"Hot digety dog"

"You're behind the 8 ball"

and "Get a load of that !"

How about:

"Sufferin' Sucatash"

"So you wanna be a wise guy, aye?"

And then starting a sentence we always preceed it with "Say..." and end it with "...see?"

Love it, Chillybug! "Say, gimme a scotch and soda on the rocks and don't skimp on the scotch, see?"

I'll try and break out "Jiminy Cricket" more than once ...
