luvsgarbo
Hello To Everyone! Thanks to all who signed my petition to put GG's films on DVD! I did know that they were planning something for her 100th, but someone had made the petition and of course I am in full support. Like many true Garbo fans, I'd like to see her lesser known films on DVD. Some of them, IMHO are even more appealing than her popular ones. When you're a Garbo fan, you see things other peeps do not. And what's more important is that her films be RESTORED! For example, THE MYSTERIOUS LADY, a GORGEOUS silent just cries out for restoration. And what ever happened to THE TEMPTRESS? Does anyone know who owns this film?? I have a copy, but it's obviously been duped so much that the quality is pretty bad. I understand those who do not 'get' the Garbo mystique. The tragedy is that Greta made so few films and also, few were worthy of her and the film or story itself really falls short. The only redeeming thing in her films are GARBO and some of her costars. But like Mauritz Stiller said, a face like that comes by one in a century. So that's why I am pretty passionate about restoring what is left. As James Mason said, "there's hardly a foot of her film that is not beautiful." Nice meeting all you classic fans! LuvsG
