I've been playing this song a lot.    Funny that the part I like the least is the Greg Lake country guitar section.     I redid this part as a jazz chord vamp.   Oh well,  still a fantastic song.

More medieval than country to my ears, JamesJazGuitar:

After further listening, there is some brief country element to it, I can hear in you description, but I think English folk dominates the section as it does in much of 1970s British prog.

Hey,  how do you know that when I said "country"  I wasn't referring to the country associated with Greg Lake?    Yea,  that's the ticket!     NOT!

Yea,   it is a more English folk \ English soccer hooligans type vibe than American country Hee-Haw.

I have this scenario of you posting your "jazz chord vamp" and then receiving a barrage of reinterpretation requests...

Here's a song with you in mind, JamesJazGuitar, for both its Noir-ish vibe and Tim Renwick's solos:

^ Who's Next is the only WHO album I listen to and the only one on vinyl among several I had that I listened to.

As a longtime fan of the WHO, this statement means squat to me.

Okay. Sorry to have offended you; it's my truth and I'll post it in a friendly context.  Not a big fan, but an admirer.   Who's Next to me is their greatest.

I won't quote you with further discussion of any artist.  I apologize.

It's me who needs to apologize, Allhallowsday: My comment was uncalled for, and I'm sorry.
