It is very beautiful even although it is very sad. I have not heard of that singer and so I will seek more of her work. I am surprised no others like the song I posted. I laughed so hard when I first heard it that I hurt. I have played it at least fifty times since and I can not repress a giggle each time.

movieman1957
Saint Saens Symphony No. 3 "Organ" finale. If you're a fan of "Babe" you'll recognize the original version of the song.
coolrob1955
movieman1957. Great post. Wonderful music. Saint-Saens seems to have been somewhat of a pompous twit and not much liked (personally not musically) by his contemporaries. But he was definitely an interesting character and a fine composer. Another fine composer whom Saint-Saens couldn't stand. There are a couple of very insipid recordings of this piece. The one to seek out however; is the full-tilt pedal to the metal version by the Orchestra of the Paris Opera from 1958. *Jules Massenet - Orchestral suite no.5, Scenes Napolitaines* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUVINl-Zdmk Best wishes Metairie Road

traceyk65
Lately Ive been on a kick for the newer singers who seem to be channelling 50's and 60's girl groups/singers. Adele (I do love that Adele says she makes music for the ears, not the eyes in response to criticisms about her weight), Duffy, The Pierces...along with actual 50's and 60's singers like Vickie Carr, Peggy Lee and Connie Francis. Duffy "Warwick Avenue" Adele "Rumor Has It" Vikki Carr "The Silencers" (and loved seeing the movie the other day!)
coolrob1955
Adele always reminds me of Alison Moyet. They have the same qualities. Some influence there I think. From the 'Alf' album (1985) - *Alison Moyet - Invisible* Best wishes Metairie Road
