Rare TV Alert: "Elopement" (1951)

Recommended Posts

Just noticed this Fox comedy is on the FMC schedule for tomorrow (Monday) at 2:30pm ET. Apparently, it has never been released on home video, either.

*Elopement* (1951) - 2:30pm ET

A father (Webb) tries to stop daughter's (Francis) elopment but ends up liking his son-in-law. Cast: Charles Bickford, Anne Francis, William Lundigan, Tommy Rettig

Director: Henry Koster

Please note the father (Webb) is Clifton Webb. FMC shows this on occasion. It features another great performance by Evelyn Varden, in a part that seems to have been written for Thelma Ritter. The casting musical chairs extended to Anne Francis' part, which was originally announced for Fox' resident girl-next-door, Jeanne Crain (by now sick and tired of playing these parts).
