Lesbian Subtext in Lewton Films

Acually, Carl Theodor Dreyer's "Vampyr," which was based on Sheridan Le Fanu's "Carmilla," which contains a lesbian vampire, beat 1936's "Dracula's Daughter" by four years, as "Vampyr" came out in 1932.

Maybe The TexasKid meant that LeFran's novella contains a lesbian vampire.

That aspect didn't really make it into VAMPYR.
