mudskipper
"The Last Hunt" is correct...Your thread, Lavender.
lavenderblue19
Thanks, mudskipper. Haven't seen this film in years. Robert Taylor was a very bad guy in this one. It's been written that this director's motto was "I'm a stranger here myself" . A theme in many of his films, and the working title of many of his films. The line was delivered by a character in one of his cult classic films. Director, Film. ??

DownGoesFrazier
Pretty soon, every one of his films will have been guessed except one, and we'll know that THAT one is correct.
lavenderblue19
HA! But this is a cult classic, I'm shocked, shocked! that you guys don't know this film well enough to recognize the quote. It is a recurrent theme with Ray's characters in many of his films, including the film I'm referring to. It was Ray's motto, and he used that line in this film. that in itself makes it special. DownGoesFrazier
No. Another hint: The film was not primarily a musical, and that might have been the problem with one of the leads.
