When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way from your 1st cigarette to your last dying days! Not so for George Chakiris--started out as Riff in the West End and ended up as Nardo in Hollywood with the Oscar.

Fi--do you remember his famous featured performances in the dance chorus of 2 major 50's musicals? And West is a given--but what was that legendary French musical?

a gentler way of putting it would be, the last poster who answers correctly posts the next question. finance correctly answered the question cujas posed, so finance posts the next question. You are welcome to post a question when either you answer one correctly or the thread is open.

Just to complete the original answer, George Chakiris is seen very prominently behind Marilyn Monroe in the "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" number in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". He is also seen behind Rosemary Clooney in "White Christmas" when she appears on the Ed Harrison TV show. The French musical is "The Women Of Rochefort", or "Les Desmoiselles de Rochefort", which also featured Gene Kelly. I believe that it's still finance's turn.

Like the French say --c'etait toute une histoire--I'll let you guess.

Next:He played the title character of one of the Golden Age's most popular film series--not serial, it was an A film. But he only appeared in the first film.
