msladysoul
I wanted to let you all know of the a classic coming on Friday morning at 6:30. TCM is doing a tribute to Edgar G. Ulmer tomorrow(Friday) and one of his early films was an independently produced all black cast film, I've talked about those a few times here. Anyways, Moon Over Harlem is considered the best of the Black Cinema era. Watch for Izinetta Wilcox and Cora Green. Two wonderful actresses. Izinetta Wilcox was a beautiful, talented actress and singer. She fit the classic Hollywood talent and beauty standards but of course Hollywood wouldn't of made her a star but she showed what she could do in this film. Hope you all can catch it. Its about a gangster seducing a wealthy widow to get his hands on her money and her daughter. I think you'll enjoy it. Get to see that that golden era of Harlem, Harlem life, etc. If you never seen any of the independently produced black films made in the 1930s and 1940s, this one you have to see. Edgam Ulmer did a great job.

bunderw170
Thanks! As an African-American, I'm sure I'll find it a fascinating look at old Harlem. It looks like Edgar Ullmer made a lot of other interesting films as well. BLU
