I?m going to go ahead and post this, as I?m pretty sure I?m right and to give enough time for someone to respond. As I ?m leaving tomorrow to go out of town, if no one has answered by tonight, I will reveal the answer and open the thread.

 

For all those who love *It?s a Wonderful Life*, when George Bailey looks at his father?s picture in a moment of what would he do?, the viewer reads what words just below the picture.

It appears that Terence does not want this. Here's one:

 

Peter Sellers starred in THE PINK PANTHER, and this role led to a franchise for him. However, another actor was signed to be Clouseau for THE PINK PANTHER, but dropped out at the last minute. Who was the actor, and why did he drop out?

The Pink Panther...actually the first movie in the series, made in 1963.

 

The story goes that when Ava Gardner left the cast abruptly, Peter Ustinov followed. He was the man who would be Clouseau. Needing a warm body, a desperate Edwards hired Sellers. He rushed to location on a Friday and the shoot began Monday. The actor and the director improvised new Clouseau material. It wasn't long before the lead, David Niven, realized his film had been stolen from under him by the bungling Clouseau...

During the making of this movie, set in Malaya during the early 50s, filming was delayed when actual squatters took up residence in the Chinese squatter village set. After their removal, filming resumed and the Chinese squatters stayed to watch. When the village is torched, crying and wailing can be heard. This wasn't from the Malay extras but from the real squatters who just lost their new home...Name the movie and the star.
