Ultimate Movie Trivia

Thanks, 'lana. Onward, ever onward:

Actor with a long resume` on big screen and TV. Series work on more than one occasion. Late 1960s Emmy Awards program. He received an Emmy for his lead role in a comedy series. The two-season series had just been canceled.

The actor said the usual thankyou stuff that goes with such moments. Then he added, "And for anyone interested," (gestured down to the formal outfit he was wearing for the occasion), "I, uh, have a tuxedo, and I... will travel." Got an extra laugh along with his departing applause.

Who? What canceled show?

The canceled series in question: Two seasons. Based on the life and work of a writer, humorist, and cartoonist who had worked with and for one of the country's most prestigious magazines. There were passages in the episodes that consisted of cartoons done in the central character's style.
