lavenderblue19
Thank You, mr.6. Yes *There's No Business Like Show Business* There's a scene when Mitzi Gaynor out on a date puts their drink glasses on the guys hands so he can't get up and follow her when she leaves because she can't stand him. The other scene is Johnny Ray breaking the news to the family that he's becoming a priest and leaving their act The last scene I mentioned, is Dan Dailey and Donald O'Connor arguing, Dailey slaps Donald and Dan leaves the act and spends the year looking for Donald. Thank You for solving this one Your thread.
mr6666
thanks, lavender 1st clue was great, just couldn't put a face to the actress 'til you said musical. Duh! next: What metropolitan disaster was mentioned, incidentally, in a 50s bio-pic, portraying the lead somewhat heroically? -film & disaster? mr6666
hint: a famous actor agreed to play a supporting part (reprising an oscar winning role) in this film on condition that he would not be paid for the role. He did the role as a tribute to the film's subject, who had generously provided occasional meals for struggling young actors, including himself, in 1920s New York. mr6666
Excellent, guys! Emgee got the film & the Kid got the disaster "Eddie Foy's role in this disaster was recreated by Bob Hope in the film The Seven Little Foys. Foy was widely seen as a hero after the fire for his courage in remaining on stage and pleading with patrons not to panic even as large chunks of burning scenery landed around him." -up to you two as who goes next.... Kid Dabb
Thank you, Emgee *Next:* The lead male character's lines in the original screenplay were to be done in a thick Cockney dialect but the script had to be completely rewritten because the actor was unable to reproduce it.
