Terrence1
Thanks, Lavender. I wasn't sure if "Peyton Place" would fit your description, because in the movie Arthur Kennedy actually does rape Hope Lange. Anyway, let's try this one: "I'll spend the rest of my life disowning this movie." These are the words of a very famous director, referring to one of his movies. Name the director and the movie. Terrence1
By the way, Lavender, what movie were you thinking of?
lavenderblue19
No Terrence, when Arthur Kennedy returns he does NOT rape Hope. She keeps hitting him with a log and kills him. He rapes her the first time, at any rate that wasn't the film I was thinking of but decided you can take it anyway, since it does fit the 2nd time he attacks her. I'm not posting the name of the film I was asking about, I'll post my question again another time.

Terrence1
Edythe, this sounds like the correct answer to one of my questions from another post. At any rate, you're right. It's your turn.
Edythevanhopper
This movie from the '53 used a miniature model for some of the scenes. Three other movies from the same year used the same model. Can you name the 1st film, a noir of '53? Extra credit if you name the other 3.
Edythevanhopper
Not "The Big Heat" (oh I love that movie). This film involves a little strychnine poison. ??

MilesArcher
A comedic actress, who usually worked as part of a team, actually appeared in several movies without her partner. In one particular musical, she plays a somewhat unique piece on the piano, accompanied by a full concert orchestra. This movie was made during World War II. Can you name the movie, the actress, and the musical composition?
Edythevanhopper
Gracie Allen played "Concerto for the Index Finger" (really?) in Two Girls and a Sailor. This should be good.
MilesArcher
You got it, Edythe. Gracie had done it on the Burns and Allen radio show. It was composed by future Oscar winning songwriter Sammy Fain. I can't disappoint everyone, so here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3J3gcp5o-o And here is a trailer for the movie: Edythe, It's your turn now. Edythevanhopper
Thank you for the treat. Your Oscar winner won for Calamity Jane. I see he did Forrest Gump as well. This multi Oscar winning song writer was nominated early in his career for a song from a 40's musical. That song opened a best picture nominee from the late '90s. Can you name the song writer, the song and the 2 movies?
