In one of Hitch's "Hollywood" movies there's a romance between two characters. The dialogue for the couple was lifted from the real life of an actress involved in a liasion. Ironically this the woman in the real-life couple is also the actress in the movie.

Please name the movie, the actress and the real-life lover.

*Under Capricorn* - the star Ingrid Bergman may have begun her affair with Roberto Rosselini around this time??

Or? *The Paradine Case* - the star Alida Valli at some point had an affair with her husband?s friend, musician Piero Piccioni, who was later connected to a scandal that damaged Valli?s career...?

Or possibly it was *Stage Fright* - the star Marlene Dietrich, though who knows which of her lovers it could?ve been, possibly Jean Gabin or Yul Brynner?

Eve--I know you'll get this. You're on the right track.

This is something that I just learned about 2 years ago, so it's not really common knowledge.

You already have a kernel of the answer with Ingrid Bergman. Unfortunately, the rest is entirely incorrect.

So?Ingrid Bergman is the married actress ? but I?m confused?

?she played a married woman throughout *Under Capricorn*, was single in *Spellbound* and in *Notorious* she was single when having the affair with Cary Grant ? but that ended when she agreed to get involved with (and later married) Claude Rains for the good of the free world?

Meanwhile, it sounds like Bergman had a lover before Rossellini?do tell?

There is one performer for whom Hitchcock had big plans, but it just didn't work out that way. This performer's contribution to the Hitchcock filmography ended up being minor. Who is it?

Vera Miles--was to be his next Gracia. But she got pregnant and couldn't do his chef-d'oeuvre, *Vertigo*. He gave the consolation prize of being the sister of Janet Leigh in *Psycho*.
