atcmviewer
Is TCM going to show the French silent film "The Italian Straw Hat"? Or maybe I missed it. The film has been released on DVD by Flicker Alley. And TCM seems to have shown a lot of films distributed by Flicker Alley. The DVDs from FA are rather expensive and Netflix doesn't carry them, nor any video stores I know. So I'm hoping TCM will show it.
gagman66
It's good. But I would rather TCM premier the restored *CHICAGO (1927)* released by Flickey Alley just a few weeks ago. The print is among the best preserved Silents ever uncovered. Made from near perfect Nitrate found in the De Mille Archive. As far as I know neither film has been leased yet. CHICAGO probably will be. TCM didn't pick up King Vidor's *BARDELYS THE MAGNIFICENT* until several months after Flicker Alley released the DVD last July. And that was an MGM Silent. Try putting in a request for *THE ITALIAN STRAW HAT.* It can't hurt any. Get some friends to help out. Apparently, TCM will be premiering the brand new restoration of Mary Pickford's *SPARROWS (1926)* in November. So that it big news. Two other Pickford features never before on DVD forthcoming from Milestone *POOR LITTLE RICH GIRL* and *THE HOODLUM* may also be on TCM.
