The classic rock & roll movie was shown on TCM last Friday night with a mono soundtrack, even though the film originally played in many theaters in stereo. What the!?!?!!?!?!?!?! Mistake or on purpose?

Unfortunately, TCM used a standard 35mm mono print, which has been the most widely used one. The 35mm 4 track and 70mm 6 track stereophonic versions have never been processed for any major video presentation. This is one of those typical situations of ?wait and see? what happens in the coming future, when the film might finally be released on DVD, in all its stereophonic glory.
