jcphelps
I have now become a a Herbert Stothart Fan. After seeing "Undercurrent" again on Kathrine Hepburn's Day for ****. I have to admit that the first time I saw this movie it seemed like the wrong people were playing the parts. But now after seeing it a few times it begins to grow on you, or at least me. Herbert Stothart music is haunting, and it took some searching to find it was drawn on Brahm's 3rd Symphony, OP 90, 3rd movement. It is amazing to me the knowledge and sources film composers drawn on. But that movement, gives one the feel of water washing on shore. Here are some of my sources for this info. [The Film Score Monthly|http://fsm-dca.rciwebhosting.net/board/posts.cfm?threadID=44096&forumID=1&archive=0] , Here's a clip of [brahm's 3rd Symphony, OP 90, 3rd Movement|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHPBVuROIH4] , and finally [a clip from Herbert Stothart granddaughter|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDoBqxhUvzw] I post this for new Herbert Stothart Fan's and old one's as well. charliechaplin101
I was thinking the same thing....Rob Mitchum and Robert Taylor should have switched parts.....Seems like Mitchum would have done better in Taylor's part.
HarryLong
>>Herbert Stothart music is haunting, and it took some searching to find it was drawn on Brahm's 3rd Symphony Wouldn't it be more accurate to say you're now a Brahms fan? To the best of my knowledge all of Stothat's music is derived from other composers.

Probably so, or perhaps I just broaden my range of Brahm's from just lullaby's. I guess because of the casting its just something that has to grow on you.
