westie327
I was surprised when I read in the TCM article about the movie "Suddenly" that Lee Harvey Oswald had viewed "Suddenly" before the Kennedy assassination. I'd like more information about how this could have been possible in the days before home video. Did he see it in 1955 and decide to kill a president at that time? Was "Suddenly" being shown in a Dallas theater in 1963? He certainly doesn't seem to have been the kind of person who would have had the capability to run a private screening of this movie. Does anyone have factual information about this?
leobertucelli
Don't know however, I'm one of those who do not believe Oswald shot Pres. Kennedy. That found pristine bullet that went through Connally then turned and hit Kennedy seemed to clinch that erroronous theory. The rest is just cocktail party talk. bansi4
westie there is a possibility that the movie "Suddenly" was shown on TV prior to the assassination. By the early 1960s studios were releasing many film packages for TV viewing. And leo this could be one of the few times that you actually made some sense in one of your posts. Congratulations! path40a
I'm not sure where you read about the connection between Oswald, JFK, and this film. But, if it was from my "Great Movie Alert!" in the favorites folder on these message boards, I apologize. I may have been guilty of perpetuating an urban legend, though I did use the word allegedly. Initially, I read about it in the trivia section of imdb.com (which uses the word supposedly). However, after viewing the film (which IS excellent, btw) and reading your post, I did a bit more research. I have learned that the source of this "rumor", which even claims that Oswald saw the film on 11/20/63 (two days before JFK's assassination ... and my 3rd birthday) is Kitty Kelley's unauthorized biography of Frank Sinatra (the star of the film). 'Nuff said.
