ddaniel123
about 5 years ago on an old movie channel I saw a 1930's or 1940's movie with a scene on the deck of a yacht where people were dancing the tango. Any ideas of what movie that might have been?
Jayo
You might try using the Keyword function of the TCM Database; if that doesn't produce the desired results, you could try the AFI Catalog; go to: afi.com/members/catalog. Under Subject, enter "Tango" (without the quotation marks). Of the 16 titles I found, 8 were from the 1930s and one was from the '40s. You may have to read through the cast lists or synopses, though. Good luck in finding what you're seeking.

FredCDobbs
Hmm, could it have been ?Dante?s Inferno? from the 1930s? There was a scene of a big party on a large yacht or a party boat, with a man and woman doing a tango. Then the boat caught fire and sank.
Jayo
ddaniel123 - Welcome to TCM and the world of movies. I'm always glad to help whenever I can. While I don't claim to know it all, I'm fairly well self-educated. What I don't know, I can usually find one or more places (whether libraries or web sites) that should have the answer. While tcm.com and tcmbd.com are great places to learn about movies, they're just the beginning. Of course it all depends on whether your interest in movies is casual or serious.
