pandorainmay
Just a note added to this old thread I kicked off long ago...Saturday, Sept. 13th, 2008 is an evening of Thelma Ritter movies beginning at 8pm with The Misfits (1960), followed by The Mating Season (1951), Boeing Boeing (1965) and Rear Window (1954). Personally, I always thought that Jimmy Stewart should have run away with Thelma at the end of that picture.
ILoveRayMilland
Alright, who edited their post? LOL! Somebody was trying to sneak this one by. Scsu, are you sure you didn't do it in a different personality? Maybe when you were Peter Lorre?

CelluloidKid
I love Thelma Ritter! She was a blast to watch. She stole entire movies from her Co-Stars when she came on screen! Being a huge film buff, I always talk about my favorite films etc. Well 1 day I was sitting in my grief group talking about my mother who had passed away, & this gal asked me to describe my mother, I thought about it, & I said "My mom always reminded me of Thelma Ritter!". Thelma had that rare quality of being tough and sweet all in one. I loved her sardonic sense of humor, & oh I loved her banter W./Better Davis in "_All About Eve_". My other fav Thelma performances besides "The Misfits" was in "_Pillow Talk_". I also liked her in "_Bird Man of Alcatraz_"! Her performance in "_Pickup on South Street_" brings me to tears everytime! A great character actress!
