There Goes My Heart

Just saw "There Goes My Heart" with Fredric March and Virginia Bruce. As Robert Osborne pointed out it was a follow up to the very successful "Nothing Sacred" done the previous year with March and Carole Lombard. March plays almost the same character in "Heart" and while Virginia Bruce is not quite Carole Lombard, she certainly is very entertaining and very attractive. Patsy Kelly is there to pickup the comedy level and there is the usual strong supporting cast. I particularly liked the musical chairs on the skating rink scene. , I really like this movie, the second time I've seen it in the past year. It is a better than average romantic comedy and if it comes out on DVD, I would buy it.

I too thought this was a good continuation piece for Fredric March and I liked Patsy Kelly's character in just about everything (I have a feeling she's probably a Take Or Leave kind of character actress, though).

I thought the similarities to IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT and NOTHING SACRED probably made it tough for Virginia Bruce to match up against Colbert and Lombard, though.

Then there's THE DEVIL AND MISS JONES, with Coburn wearing the glass slippers.

Thanks for the tip!

I've seen only one of those shorts before (the Tom Dugan one) and of course, the feature.

I plan to be there!
