Preminger- Musical- *Porgy and Bess*

War Movie- *In Harm's Way*

What I was really looking for is that they each directed at least one musical and at least one film noir----the noirs are: Preminger---LAURA, etc.-----------Zinnemann--ACT OF VIOLENCE------Wise--THE SET-UP...(I don't think too many other directors directed both musicals and noirs).....Your thread, Lavender............

They are all known for their wonderful Philanthropic work.

 

Louise Treadwell was Spencer Tracy's wife, she is the founder of the John Tracy Clinic, a non-profit education center for the deaf.

 

Jerry Lewis was of course the National chairman for MDA. His telethons have raised more than 2.6 billion dollars. He was also nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1977.

 

Danny Thomas founded St. Jude Children's Research Hospital- treating children with childhood cancers.
