Hint -- It's "a film thing" (to quote Shutoo).  It involves another person.

They all made a film with Edward G. Robinson?

You're halfway there, Star!  Think about the roles that each of them played in the EGR films.

Sorry, shutoo, but that's not it.

Another hint:  one particular role that each actress played is the link to the other actress.

No, the actress that is the link did not appear in any of the films that connect them, although she did make one film with Claudette Colbert.

Starlit, I think I have it, at long last!  This was a challenge, as are most of your postings.  What a great source of movie info you are!

I think the answer is that each actress made a movie that was remade with June Allyson.

Yay!  I think you got it, Terry!

(Sorry, Star, I don't know how I skipped over your previous clues.  I just kept focusing on the original list of names.)

And we have a winner!  Yes, Terrence, that is exactly right.  June Allyson starred in remakes of Little Women, It Happened One Night (her version was a musical called You Can't Run Away from It), My Man Godfrey and The Women (another musical remake called The Opposite Sex).

The thread is all yours, Terrence.

That's the link!

Dick Powell won $25 grand in a slogan contest (he didn't actually win, but he got the $..well, you all probably know the story)

Percy Kilbride won the modern house with a tobacco slogan

Darren McGavin won the infamous 'frajilee' leg lamp

Fonda won $500 and a course in success after being selected the biggest failure

Hooray MilesArcher! Your thread
