Movie about a wife waiting for husband to come home from war

Recommended Posts

Years ago I saw a movie from the early to mid 40's I think. I remember it mostly playing out in the living room of a young woman's family home. She was married to a soldier and I think it is the day he is coming back home or she is waiting for a telegram from him. I know there is another man there who had previously dated her and still wants to marry her. Maybe she isn't married yet. The soldier does show up in the end.

It's not Since You Went Away--Claudette Colbert is waiting to hear from her husband but she's a mother of 2 teenagers and she only gets a phone call about her husband at the end. He's only shown in a photo.

I'm thinking it might be The Very Thought of You (1944) with Eleanor Parker & Dennis Morgan although I don't know if the part about a previous boyfriend is part of the story, at least I don't remember that part.
