Jamie
If you could bring back any one person and ask them one question who would it be and what would be the question? For example, if Judy Garland had known her fate, I would ask her if she would she have taken those pills in the first place. Oh, and on a lighter note, I would ask her for a hug. ~~~ I'm curious to see what everyone has to say... ~~~
renstil
I would definitely bring back Marilyn Monroe. She did not get the break in life or in show business that she deserved. Marilyn craved a family and a supportive husband but was also conflicted by her desires to be an actress. She valued her independence and didn't want to be under anyone elses care after she was spotted by talent scouts. I feel that Marily was taken advantage of all of her life by everyone. She needed the emotional stability and confidence to say NO once in while when she didn't want to do something;however, I don't remember her ever saying that word. Can we respect a person who never has limitations? I'd like to see a much more secure self-assured Marilyn whose artistic talents are under her control. Not vice-versa when emotions get out of control and must be quieted with narcotics, alcohol, several marriages, sexual escapades, therapists who charge too much, and studio bosses who constantly want you to perform and be on time. Marilyn unfortunately never found that strength. She didn't understand that strength is built from the inside out and not the other way around. She must have missed that part of growing up - learning character values. I know she was raped and was not valued at all. That low esteem has a hard time ever going away. If she was in front of me now, tonight, I'd tell her that I've had a similar life of growing up neglected emotionally. The only hope in this big world is Jesus Christ. He has healed my pain and has taught me to love. I am forgiven and I walk with Him every day. He, Jesus is the only name under heaven by which we can be saved. Confess your sins, He is faithful and true to forgive you nomatter what you have done. You are now a new creature in Christ . Old things are past away. therealfuster
and I wouldn't ask him anything. I'd just like to look at him for a spell, as he was quite intriguing and mysterious. The only person who ever somewhat resembled him and his malificent demeanor is Christopher Lee, who I also admire.
bggalaxy
Jean Arthur, and I'd ask her if she wouldn't mind if Barbara Stanwyck also hung out with us.
harlowkeatongirl
> Cool question! > > Cary Grant, Cary Grant, Cary Grant! And I wouldn't > want to talk to him! LOL! Same scenario for me - but insert James Mason, Errol Flynn, Rudy Valentino, Buster Keaton, or Gary Cooper. Hey since we're fantasizing we might as well be loose, right? deeanddaisy666
realfuster........ah, yes, the 'look' of Charles Middleton. Never knew his name. He reminds me of Tully Marshall, one of the 'gang' in 'Ball of Fire' who was sooo much more interesting looking (to me) than Gary Cooper. harlowkeatongirl...lol, so true! I sure got the train of this topic onto a lascivious track, didn't I???

thomasterryjr
I would love to bring back Maurice Chevalier. He would give me a lesson on how to be suave, charming, charismatic and debonair in his delightful, confident and understated manner. After the lesson we would go pick up Miriam Hopkins and Lana Turner for lunch and a walk on a beautiful Saturday in the park.

edgedrv
I find this topic to be quite silly, since I feel my favorites never went away to begin with. The classic stars are always there on the big screen and available to see any time in one's favorite movies whether its on TCM or in DVD's I have purchased. kimbo3200
I think this topic is interesting. It's hard to decide too. Probably Cary Grant, and then I would just stare at him, because I would be in total awe. And I'm choosing a girl too - Myrna Loy - because she seemed so interesting. bhryun
Regarding Gable never acknowledging his daughter born to Loretta Young, you may wish to read Judy Lewis' book, "Uncommon Knowledge" published in 1994. Even Loretta Young would not admit that Judy was her birth child until 1958--twenty-three years after Judy's birth. One intriguing part of the book was when Loretta Young's mother arranged a meeting with her daughter and Clark Gable to plan strategy--since if this was discovered both careers would be ruined. When Gable was told of the pregnancy, he said: "I thought she knew how to take care of herself. She's been a married woman, hasn't she?"
therealfuster
Ronald Colman. Imagine having a nice dinner with him at the Savoy in London? Yes, that would be nice. I won't bring his wife, Benita back though....

allycat1920
That really is tough. I am only 22 so most of my favorites died long before I was born or when I was to young to appreciate them so there are many. Just to be different though I am going to go with someone from behind the scenes, Edith Head.
bansi4
Gosh...by all means bring back Thelma Ritter since we could use some genuine laughter in the movies, especially now-a-days. Mongo
