marsue
why hasn't tcm scheduled its a wonderful life to view on tcm this holiday season? I am baffled by this. in the past I am almost positive I watched it this time of year!! Not right folks, its one of the highest rated christmas movies ever. Is there a good reason for this movie being overlooked?
vallo13
NBC owns the broadcast rights to the film. Their channels usually Do show the film during the holidays. The film is available on DVD. vallo
lzcutter
NBC has had a long-term lock on *Wonderful Life* for at least the last ten years and has at least another 15 years to go with their exclusive contract to broadcast it.

markfp2
Unless there's a theater in your area that shows IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE during the holidays, the only way to see it uncut and commercial free is by watching the DVD.
marsue
just answer why it isn't shown anymore on tcm?? its such a great classic. I don't even see it shown on any other channels very strange. there has to be a really good reason why they aren't presenting it thats all
movieman1957
vallo answered that for you under your original post. NBC owns the rights to show it. As long as they have the fights no other network in the US can show it.

lanceroten
I actually miss the days when It's a Wonderful Life was shown seemingly on every channel at Christmas time . NBC has had the exclusive since 1994 I believe. Draws ratings, thus, I doubt they drop it anytime soon.
Ray Faiola
I remember the first time I saw the picture. It was on WCBS' LATE SHOW on a Saturday night at 11:30pm. I was totally knocked over by it.
