emwriterdude
Has anyone seen the movie "War Nurse" playing at 6:00am tomorrow? The reason I ask is because the tv guide gave it one and a half star, but ZaSu Pitts is in it, and I want to see the difference in the silent film acting and the talking movie acting, but if the movie itself is bad, I won't get up that earlier. . . I do have school. Eric
nickdimeo
You know, I have a sneaking suspicion that alot of these T.V. listing guides never even see these early movies before they respond with the numbers of stars that they give them. For instance, (speaking of Zasu Pitts) my local t.v. listing guide that comes in my local newspaper gave GREED three stars. We all know GREED is a four star movie. My digital box is always off when it comes to giving stars to these early classics. I think it's just a result of younger people who haven't seen these movies. By the way, I recommend War Nurse. emwriterdude
Thanks, and I think your right, but I overslept! I was so angry at myself. I wanted to hear her voice. . .
path40a
If you're still interested in more info about War Nurse (1930), I reviewed it on my website. However, the reason for this post is the fact that I just watched (& reviewed) something obscure I'd taped in January called "Sing and Like It (1934)" with Zasu Pitts, Nat Pendleton, Ned Sparks and others. It was so very funny. I didn't even realize till I watched it that it was "worthy" of a Robert Osborne intro, but it was. It's a fairly familiar story, and it's not exactly a great movie, but I did LOL a lot;-)
