harlowkeatongirl
....as I type. I convinced our team at work to do "Old Hollywood." And our company is such a drag in general... maybe 3/4 people per team even dressed up. But oh well, I'm having fun, even if this fur shawl around my neck that I bought at an antique store is making my neck sweat, and these shoes are pinching my toes off. Just think -- women did this everyday. And women today think we're hot stuff for working outside the home. The back wall of our section says "The Golden Age Of Hollywood" in huge letters, it's so rad. I keep thinking I wish some of you guys worked here, you'd go all out w/me! lol
KeithFromKC
What a COOL theme, HKG! I'd definitely enjoy that! I LOVE Clara Bow. What a wonderful choice!
pgm80s
I cant believe you convinved that many people to dress up, the last place i worked there was only one other person who enjoyed classic movies. That is a great idea though and I'll bet its a lot of fun.If i'd a been there I probably would have either worn a tux with tails or dressed as The Duke, or maybe in zoot suit and talk like a ganster all day. Well hope ya have fun. Pete
harlowkeatongirl
One lady named Star is Bette Davis, another named Linda is Bert Lahr (the Cowardly Lion). And if the other people on our team would've been cool enough... (teehee ).... we would've had: Charlie Chaplin, Katharine Hepburn, Joan Collins, Jimmy Stewart, James Dean, Lucille Ball. Two of the people on our team are married and they're going to be Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta tomorrow Saturday when they're here. Not OLD Hollywood, but you've gotta allow for some of that, ya know.... One girl was supposed to draw the Grauman's Chinese Theater but she never finished it. She's been having personal health probs though, so we've gotta let her off the hook for that. We have these little grey fuzzy squares we traced our hand and footprints in though, with fake celebrity signatures. We just put the squares on the wall. The maintenance guys are griping about the glitter we used for the Hollywood sign, but other than that, everyone's having fun.
Guest
I'd imagine it was kinda hard to get people to play along, but it's great that you did!
gwtwbooklover
harlowkeatongirl did you don the blond wig and Harlow attire last year? Have you ever dressed as Harlow? And how did you decide on Bow? Hope you had a blast. I have a horror dress up story glad yours went well. One year I dressed in my nightclothes with a calico robe and hair cover for rollers san the rollers. I worked at a nursing home so off the robe went well in the light if it hit me right it more or less left not much to the imagination. Of course this was not my intention and no one noticed until the maintenance man did and he never let me live it down. I was horrified! Turned beet red.
