kingrat
". . . scantily attired and leading a fawn." That's hilarious. But wait, didn't Jayne Mansfield wear a swimsuit to go out walking her pet ocelot? So the more things change . . . .

mrroberts
May looks like a great month; the first Basil Rathbone/Sherlock Holmes film, the opening of *Dodge City*, good news about William Powell (my favorite actor) getting his health back and maybe a new "Thin Man" movie with Myrna Loy. Looks like a lot of trips to the movies, save your quarters.
filmlover
Wait until you see tomorrow's Dodge City ad. I am limited by the board's size amounts for pictures, otherwise you would be stunned. The actual ad measures about 8x12!

clore
I just want to tell you of how much I am enjoying this thread. Especially the news stories of casting decisions that never happened, productions that never came to be, or trying to figure it out when the announced title was changed before release. wouldbestar
Did John Alden really see Dodge City before writing the review? How could he fawn all over supporting player Ann Sheridan but not give even a mention to female lead Olivia de Havilland? I think this was the first movie I ever saw her in and at 13 thought Abbie a real heroine and role model. I lost track of how many times I've seen it before I got my copy a long time ago. "Horse epic," indeed!
