MyFavoriteFilms
That's great, Hamradio! I love it! Clore, MISTER BUDDWING is a good example of a story involving an amnesiac. And although the plot is more about brainwashing, we could possibly add THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE.

hamradio
How about a *satire* theme? "Airplane!" "Hot Shots" "Top Secret" "Student Bodies" "Student Bodies" was a send-up to serial killer movies. The old "Baby Burlesk" shorts starring Shirley Temple. They were satires of movies, actors, film directors, etc. Some modern film viewers take them out of context today. The producer Jack Hays was ahead of his time. The type of person that would have made "Airplane!" A good example is "Pie Covered Wagon". It was a satire of the silent "The Covered Wagon" (1923). Hey TCM there's one for "Silent Sunday Nights Edited by: hamradio on Jan 16, 2011 1:33 PM
MyFavoriteFilms
Yes, there are lots of different types of satire, too. Some of it borders on black comedy.
