filmlover
He is one of my favorite character actors and it is great to see he is getting so many films tomorrow for his birthday!
filmlover
Wow, lol, looks like I am the only one who likes him. How can anyone dislike the star of radio's "Life With Luigi"?
scsu1975
I like him too - he was always good playing an Italian. Fortunately, TCM is not airing his final film, the crappy Dracula vs Frankenstein. Maybe they are saving that for when Russ Tamblyn buys the farm. ValentineXavier
They just aired it a week or so ago. Crappy, yes, but good fun. Dracula looks like Frank Zappa!
FredCDobbs
I think he was in about half the films made in the 20th Century.

I know they did this last year for his birthday as well, someone at TCM must love him, which is fine!
fredbaetz
I think he played more nationalities then any other actor living or dead. But despite his Irish hertiage, as far as I know he only once played a Irishman once in John Ford's "Rio Grande" as Gen. Phil Sheridan {He was also of Irish hertiage }. He received two A.A. nominations for Best Supporting Actor. "Sahara" with Bogart and "A Medal for Benny". He didn't win either time. Always a pleasure to watch.... FredCDobbs
He was also Charlie Chan in a TV show back in the '50s. One of his best movies was the short "A Star in the Night", a Christmas film that TCM has shown several times.
