cinecrazydc
Did anyone see Mickey Rooney's testimony before the Senate Aging Committee of Congress about his being a victim of elder abuse the other day ? Among other things, he said he was "trapped and scared." It was heartrending. Perhaps that would explain his long absence from the public eye ? Brookside
Yes I did. When the story about the abuse first came out I wasn't quire sure what to think as sometimes people with dementia become suspicious of family members who are taking care of them. However after seeing his full testimony, I could see that he is very coherent and I almost cried that such a beloved American Icon could be in such a situation. God bless you Mickey Rooney. You are a example for all as to how to stand up for yourself and overcome adversities. I somehow hope he knows that many people care about him and he has support. cinecrazydc
*Before Mickey left the microphone at the hearings, he said that "I consider my fans part of my family." Not only a nice touch, but I hope we all consider the feeling mutual; I know I do.* *Cinecrazy DC*
