Audible Narration for the Blind.......Why?

Several days ago, TCM started adding audible narration for the blind to nearly all programming. WHY? There literally aren't 100 people nationwide who will use it but there are 100 people ON MY STREET who will turn off TCM because of it. It's no different than listening to someone talk on their cell phone next to you for an entire movie. Why is TCM DESTROYING these films? I sometimes wonder if TCM is purposely trying to go the way of AMC......

See if you can shut the SAP audio off on your own TV set. If you can't, then the problem might be with your local cable company.

 

TCM sends out two separate channels of audio.

 

One channel carries the main audio that we all hear.

 

The other channel carries the main audio plus the SAP description for the blind.

 

If your problem is not with your own TV set, then it's with your local cable company, and they are sending out the SAP audio over the main audio channel by mistake.

 

A couple of people here had this same problem a few weeks ago, and they called their local cable company and got the situation corrected.
